Amsterdam is putting together plans to close down many brothels and marijuana cafes. The government aims to close half of these edgy establishments in a collective effort to crack down on organized crime. The ultimate solution will hopefully make Amsterdam as a “tolerant and crazy place, rather then a free zone for criminals” said alderman Lodewijk Asscher, who is for the plan.
This will also clear the cluster of the cities windows, by making cafe’s and sex shops limited and unique to Amsterdam. In these plans new hotels, art shops, and underground parking will also be added.
